Why go green?

In the dark ages of civilization, man fought against fellow man (in wars) and got away with it. We are surely not getting away with it, since we started waging war on the environment. Unless we retrace our carbon-filled footprints, we are towing a path of doom; we are nearing our Waterloo.

Catastrophe loves carbon prints and mankind leaves a lot of them. To limit disaster is to go green...

Going green means living in harmony with the environment as an individual, and as a community, to make for a sustainable planet. It is the art and science of using the earth's resources responsibly and efficiently. It means finding value in everything and seeing waste in nothing. Human industry and institutions are supported by the natural environment, and if we ignore the threat of human-induced climate change, we are hanging on a knife edge...
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant. The idea of going green is not hopeless. Because you aren’t seeing the results of your activity now doesn’t mean that you will not see them in ten years. Few people understand the importance of changing their lifestyle now in order to reap the benefits later. A large forest is not grown in a year, but each of us can plant a small tree today to make a forest of giant trees in ten or fifteen years. This is likened to investing into a small firm. In a few years, the firm develops into a big company and a vibrant industry which will provide abundant profit.

Why go green?

For your well being:
The truth is that we have no place to go yet. It is silly that we are living on this planet as if we have another one to go to (perhaps with a duplicate copy of life). It seems as though people want more money and stuff to satisfy their 'needs'. So, they are ready to exhaust the world they live in. They cut down forests, kill animals, birds and fish and pollute rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. They care about their profit (whatever that is) and nothing more. They do not appreciate fresh air and water, though they cannot survive a minute without them. They are ready to live in the unhealthy environment in order to receive more money. How ironic it is that the money you get from plundering the environment is the same money you'll use to pay for treatment at a hospital. To rephrase bluntly, if you pollute your environment wantonly, you are gambling with your life, squared up against the overwhelming odds that Mother Nature would toss you into a hospital or send you to your own grave...

To leave a sound legacy
By going green, you are creating a cleaner and brighter future. By going green we are saving the life of future generations. We can’t afford to borrow the earth from our children. So, making the planet livable for future generations is the most important reason to go green. In other words, going green is the best legacy you can leave for your children.
In conclusion, the land, the water, the air, the planet...is our legacy to the young. People should stop cutting down forests, because they are the lungs of Earth. Never forget, a felt tree could mean forfeited legacy, and an increment in the air's toxicity.
You've explored the why. The how is not far off...
However...,Thank you for reading my post...
