life, irony, philosophy

Below are jumbled up statements, many of which are quotes (Pardon me if I don’t remember who said what). Spot the bitter-sweet irony between the lines. I hope you will be uplifted.

“True happiness occurs only when you find the problems you enjoy having and enjoy solving''.

Everybody wants this and that (good things of life). It’s easy to want that. A more interesting question, a question that most people never consider, is, “What pain do you want in your life? What are you willing to struggle for?” Because that seems to be a greater determinant of how our lives turn out''.

“Certainty is the enemy of growth’’.

''To know the future absolutely is to be trapped into that future absolutely. It collapses time. Present becomes future. I require more freedom than that.’’

“And if we reject nothing, we essentially have no identity at all.”
‘'To accept X is to reject non-X.’’

“No truly happy person feels the need to stand in front of a mirror and recite that she's happy. She just is.”

''The best moments usually occur when a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile… The swimmer’s muscles might have ached during his most memorable race, his lungs might have felt like exploding, and he might have been dizzy with fatigue_ yet this could have been the best moments of his life’’.

“Everything worthwhile in life is won through surmounting the associated negative experience’’.

“Don't hope for a life without problems, 'the panda said. 'There's no such thing. Instead, hope for a life full of good problems.”

“When we force ourselves to stay positive at all times, we deny the existence of our life’s problems. And when we deny our problems, we rob ourselves of the chance to solve them and generate happiness. Problems add a sense of meaning and importance to our life. Thus to duck our problems is to lead a meaningless (even if supposedly pleasant) existence''.

''To live is to suffer; to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.’’

The lesser the materials you need to function optimally, the better you are.

“When your wants are satisfied by the things you already have, there’s no need to acquire any more.''

“Abundance is harder for us to handle than scarcity.”

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.”

“The irony is that by being less focused on your results, you may achieve better ones.”

''Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant’’.

''Memories are within us, not within our things’’.

"Show me a completely smooth operation and I will show you someone who is covering mistakes... real boats rock."

''Wealth is a tool for freedom. But the pursuit of wealth is the way to slavery.’’

''Caution is the path to mediocrity.’’

''Logic is good for playing chess but is often too slow for the needs of survival. In fact, the universe seems to be one step ahead of logic.’’

''Confidence is not proof; impression is not fact…’’

To recover your ego, swallow your ego.

To succeed, accommodate failure.

To find pleasure, endure pain.

To find freedom, exercise discipline. Accepting limitations is liberating.

Head for Unpleasantville, to arrive Pleasantville.

You can only overcome your fears by confronting them, not dodging them…

To overcome rejection, confront rejection.

I hope these lines left a sweet aftertaste…
At any rate, thank you for reading my post
