Reflective Wednesday

happy, thoughts, Philosophy, life

What I call the four immutable laws of the universe: cause and effect, absolute accretion, temporality and identity. What are yours? Below are some ideas that would keep your head buzzing, and your cheeks widened…

  1. Philosophy is useless if it doesn’t make man happy; please weave a comic narrative with your philosophical thread and needle.
  2. You have your way, I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way and the correct way, it doesn’t exist (Nietzsche’s quote). Signals of different frequencies tickle our fancy. We occupy different timelines and different locations in space. We are different because the universe interacts with us differently.
  3. Life is unfair. The relationship between cause and effect isn’t perfectly linear. Asymmetry paints a better picture. Oftentimes minority of causes leads to the majority of effects. In a particular task, massive effort can generate little results at time A/point A, while little effort can generate massive results at time B/point B.
  4. To prove that you’re creative, you have to do what the computer hasn't done. Creativity is the art of fashioning out what the computer cannot compute (Anonymous).
  5. In this age, technology must have a massive touch of art and humanity to succeed.
  6. Never let pain swamp your capacity to enjoy the pleasures of life ahead... Kill the pain or the pain kills you.
  7. Life flips you a coin with binary outcomes for your picking: Pain before pleasure, or pleasure before pain. Choose.
  8. If accretion doesn’t take place, decay ensues.
  9. The child must become the father of the man, else the future would be dimmer.
  10. An important question on the lips of those committed to improving continuously is: WHAT NEXT?
  11. One man’s truth can be another man’s lie. Furthermore, some lie of yesteryear is truth of today, and some truth of yesteryear is lie of today. Funny…
  12. If the leader is the arrow's head, the follower(s) is the shaft.
  13. For it to be called progress, it must follow a defined sequence.
  14. You don't need to get 100% information to make a decision. some things would still go wrong even though you're right...
  15. Don't throw all your money on problems. Sprinkle some on opportunity.
  16. Your choices are your trademark.
  17. We humans are making and breaking the rules. Nature stares, going about her coded business, indifferent to our existence.
  18. The past is fixed. the present in transit. The future is probabilistic.
  19. Three tests for genuine passion:
  • If you had all the money in the world, would you still be doing what you're doing today?
  • If you had 24hrs of your life left, what would you spend it on?
  • What are you willing to die for?
